One local school had to be closed yesterday
The rain from Tropical Storm Fay drenched the Tennessee Valley all day yesterday. Roads were a mess as slick streets caused multiple accidents. Both interstates 75 and I-24 had crashes that slowed traffic for hours. One crash in the 75/24 split caused so many problems that the 911 center switchboard was flooded with calls. Because of where the truck crashed it wasn’t able to be cleared until late last night. The rain may have also contributed to a power outage at the Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts. They were dismissed early yesterday but everything is back to normal today.
